Vitamin-M 5/8/2911 - Ireland and 'Okaerinasai' chat

“I went to Ireland the other day to film [a short movie]. I’ve been abroad to shoot things in the past but this was my first trip to Ireland so there it was really fresh in all kinds of ways. I have a feeling that a really good piece of work is going to come out of it.”

I decided to tune into Vitamin-M this week as it was mentioned on Victor Music’s twitter that she’d be talking about the upcoming song ‘Okaerinasai’, but she spoke about her trip to Ireland quite a lot too. Then she got to the part about the new song right at the end.

She changed over in London – ahhh, so close. So the above is just a quick comment she made about the short movie that they went to shoot over the past month in Galway.

Apparently her dad sent her really passionate emails while she was away in Ireland talking about the country and how he’d been there before…except that he was talking about Iceland the whole time: “Wrong, Dad!”

In Galway it seems they had a tough schedule, fitting all the filming into just three days. They also had to fit into the location shooting rules in Ireland, keeping to the hours they were allowed to film but also trying to capture the best lighting etc. They were filming until 10 at night after leaving the hotel at 7am.

It seems she had a great time in Ireland (of course, food features in her chat!)

As we know, ‘Okaerinasai’ will be the new anime Tamayura ~hitotose~ opening song from October. Matsutoya Yumi is the composer, who also goes under the name Yumi Arai, and Maaya herself wrote the lyrics (“Argh, what pressure!”) Maaya says that as Matsutoya is someone she really likes and respects, she was very nervous right from their first meeting but she was very, very happy that Matsutoya undertook it.

Nice! I’m looking forward to next Friday!

Thanks for the comments! You can stream each episode of Vitamin on the official bay fm site here:

She has had some episodes of radio shows with live callers but the show goes out at 1am or something silly so it would be difficult with Vitamin M. If I'm correct they record it in advance...?

You could always try sending an email :)
